Synopsis & Insights:
Consider it a happy anniversary to the couple who have been through the thick and thin of romantic relationships for quite sometime now. This film follows the characters of Molly and Sam (Noel Wells and Ben Schwartz) , which makes on their third anniversary such choice of professions, to shoot thinking of a nested man or a wife. The action of the film spans over one day and during that time the two analyze their relationships, considering happy and not so emotions which brought them to this very point.
Amongst the leading ladies of the romcom genre, Wells is picture perfect as Molly and Schwartz isn’t disappointing in convincing us that he is Sam. The relations depicted in this film are that of usefulness to the great waves shivering the female hero nerves an of a devoted man sane and faithful all the times to his distressed wife. As Ed, Rahul Kohli makes an appearance oozing comedy as the best pal of Sam who enjoys offering unsolicited help.
Happy Anniversary is a funny and poignant feature that deals with the issues of love in the course of years. It’s a rather popular tale as it has its fair share of humorous dialogues and touching events that most people would live through. The best thing about the film, however, and what I find the most refreshing, is a perfect balance between comedy and real-life sentiments which is rather contemporary. Those who favor a mix of characters and romance with a touch of real life will find Happy Anniversary to be quite beautiful and entertaining, providing mirth and a perspective on dedication and romance.
