Personal Insights
The film, “Following Yonder Star”, is a feel-good story perfect for the audience seeking a pleasant tale set during Christmas, which is never surprising as the film is produced by Hallmark. This time, the story revolves around Christmas and how Abby embraces self-discovery and love and the rare astronomical event which serves as a backdrop for the film as the Star of Bethlehem does so for Christmas. Brooke Dorsay has a good portrayal of Abby which is complemented by John Brotherton’s Tom in the movie.
Cultural Significance
Este filme é um dos esforços que a Hallmark faz para ter uma maior diversidade em suas produções de filmes de natal, o que também leva a um gerenciamento mais abrangente do enredo e personagens. “Following Yonder Star” for sure has elements of faith and personal change; thus, it appeals to people who are looking for substance during the time of holidays. The watch has been strategically placed within Hallmark’s 15th annual ‘Countdown to Christmas’ in a bid to demonstrate Hall Mark’s progressiveness whilst retaining the image which is unique, in this case, the hallmark of hallmark movies.
