Synopsis

In contemporary North Wales, Helen, played by Louise Brealey, lives a tedious life while slaving away at a chicken factory. She also has to look after her sick mother-in-law, Gwen (sorcha Cusack). Helen’s day to day life is turned upside down upon the return of her childhood sweetheart, Joanne (Annabel Scholey). Helen’s life has meaning again as she is able to nurture her romance with very Joanne, although she still suffers from issues deep rooted in her childhood. The seamles form of musical features distinguished songs from the 1960s and 70s which have infused deeper emotions into the play.
