Synopsis
Based on a real-life event, The Runway is a delightful and amusing story. Taking place in the fifteen-houses Mallow Irish village in 1980, the main plot centers on Paco (Jamie Kierans), a crafty child who makes friends with a Colombian pilot Ernesto (Demián Bichir) who has been left stranded. After a plane belonging to some foreigner crash-lands in the region, Paco and the all too peculiar local folks get it into their heads to fix the plane and construct a rudimentary takeoff area in hopes of helping Ernesto get back home. In the process, the town progresses in its understanding of hard work, togetherness, and being adventurous.
